Good morning, y’all! How was everyone’s Prime Day(s)? I snagged everything I was wanting except “The Amazon Coat“. It was the one item I wanted the most, but after looking over the measurements, it was going to hit below my knees. Ughhhh, I suppose it was just a sign that I didn’t need to spend the money, but that still doesn’t comfort me much.
AC and her friend set up the Shoffett last night for a little slumber party. I think they thought of everything! Blow up chairs, twinkle lights, frozen water bottles for longevity, a record player, the list goes on. This is a really fun age! Everyone says the 4-6 age range is the best, and while I miss those days incredibly, I’m really loving these! Watching her grow into her own skin and personality, a little lady, if you will, but more so the fact that she still enjoys being a kid! I was so worried she’d grow up too fast because of how the world is now, ‘ya know? She isn’t into dolls or toys anymore, but she isn’t into makeup and isn’t boy crazy either, so for now, I feel really blessed. In case you’re curious how the sleepover went, they were back in the house by 9:15 lol.
Thanks for reading my momma bear ramblings, now on to the good stuff, my outfit! This dress is another Amazon purchase, and being honest, it wasn’t my favorite when I tried it on. I love the print and color, but it’s about an inch too long on me. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not into super short pieces, but being 5′ tall, they need to hit at the bottom of my thigh muscle to look right. I decided to keep it because it will work well for more conservative things, like church or functions at AC’s school.
I knew I wanted to spice it up a little, since it’s a more safe outfit, so instead of my Rebecca Minkoff cage bucket bag that I originally planned to pair with it, I grabbed my leopard calf hair clutch (sold out, save, splurge). You have no idea how often you will reach for a leopard clutch! I carry it all seasons, and with way more than I thought I would when I purchased it. In fact, I even use it in my bigger bags to help with organization!
