Recent Ulta Purchase Product Reviews

ulta haul

Good morning y’all! And welcome to my first ever beauty post! I’ve talked about beauty products a couple of times in the past, but I’ve never done any product reviews. So maybe I should say my first ever beauty product review? Hmmm…

I always find it somewhat hard to trust product reviews from bloggers and influencers because for the most part, they’re being compensated to promote the product. If they aren’t being compensated, they’re typically fishing for a sponsorship. I have less than 700 followers, I think it goes without saying that I’m in no way being paid to promote anything ha.

I went to Ulta on Sunday because I needed mascara, and as always, I took on the sample isle like a boss. If a product is available in a sample/ travel size, I’ll always opt for that first. I’ve been disappointed far too many times after purchasing a new product in a full size.

morphe 35g bronze goals

Morphe 35G Bronze Goals, $25.00

2/5 Stars

All of my friends swear by Morphe eyeshadow palettes. I don’t blame them, look how many colors you get for $25.00! I finally decided to give in and try it. Honestly, I’m not sure what all of the fuss is about? I was telling a friend that they weren’t very pigmented, and she said that she felt the opposite. Confused, I tried this palette again, but sprayed MAC Fix+ on my brush first, and it helped bring the color out a lot. I’ll post a comparison photo below. It’s showing that this palette is sold out online at ULTA and Morphe, but you can get it on Amazon for about $100.00. What??!! Do not do that. And if you do, please don’t tell me about it. I’ll play around with it a little more, but honestly I’ll probably go back to my ‘ole faithful Urban Decay Naked 2. We’ve been going strong for 6 years now.

MAC fix +

MAC Fix+ (travel size), $14.00

5/5 Stars

This stuff has so many uses, y’all. I thought it was just a setting spray, but after watching this video on YouTube, I realized that it had multiple uses. The two I’ve found that make me give this product 5/5 stars are the help with less pigmented colors (see picture above) and it bringing dried up product back to life. I added a couple pumps to my Anastasia DipBrow Pomade and stirred it in and it’s just as creamy now as it was when I first purchased it!

kopari deodorant

Kopari Deodorant (travel size), $10.00

1/5 Stars

Save your money and buy yourself a gas station bottle of wine. The only reason it gets even one star is because the product itself smells good. You know what won’t smell good come 10:00 am? You. Literally, my underarms were wet and I smelt like a young boy on the cusp of puberty that just finished cutting the grass on a 90 degree Alabama day.

too faced lip injection

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme (travel size), $14.00

3/5 Stars

I didn’t notice a huge difference, but they did seem a little fuller. I’ll post a comparison photo below and let y’all be the judge. It reminded me of when I used to use the tingle lotion in the tanning bed. It was kinda scary at first, I sat there making duck lips for ten minutes thinking my lips were melting off of my face.

NARS climax mascara

NARS Climax Mascara (travel size), $11.00

5/5 Stars

I was really impressed with this mascara. I wasn’t shocked, as most NARS products are great. I bought a full size Too Faced Better Than Sex (I’ve used this for two years now), and returned after trying this. It really helped to separate the lashes and lift them up. It didn’t go on clumpy either, which is honestly what sold me on it the most.

tula purifying cleanser

Tula Purifying Face Cleanser (travel size), $10.00

5/5 Stars

This is the product I was most excited to try, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s very thick and lathers well. The first time I used it, I used about a quarter size, which was way too much. Since then, I’ve used a little more than a dime size and it’s been plenty. It leaves my skin feeling very clean. I used a cotton ball with toner after to check for left behind makeup, and there was none. I feel a lot more confident in purchasing some of the brands more expensive products, like this and this. If you haven’t tried it yet, do so and let me know how you like it!

mario badesco cleanser

Mario Badescu Acne Facial Cleanser (travel size), $8.00

4/5 Stars

I bought this for my daughter because she’s starting to get acne and nothing we’d tried seem to help. This, in combination with the brands drying lotion, have really seemed to get a handle on it. The only reason I gave it 4/5 stars is because it doesn’t seem to prevent future breakouts, but it does help reduce the existing spots dramatically.

I hope this offers y’all some insight before trying out any of these products. I’ve also never had my phone camera on selfie mode this many times. If y’all have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
