I saw this dress on the Nordstrom web site a couple of months or so ago but didn’t purchase. It sat in my cart for quite some time until I finally pulled the trigger. I bought it for the beach, but it didn’t come in in time (sigh). I was so upset about it because how pretty would it have looked with an ocean background?!? That’s what got me thinking, though. How many things do I purchase for the sake of (fill in the blank)?
Per usual, I went down a rabbit hole, but this time, it was of my recent wardrobe purchases. After looking over recent bank and credit card statements, I knew something had to change. I wasn’t comfortable with the amount of money I was spending but I wasn’t going to give up shopping, either. It was like a lightbulb went off, and then I was embarrassed because it was “Duh!”.
Before I purchase something, no matter how badly I want it, if I can’t style it 3 ways, I don’t buy it. This dress was no exception. It can be worn alone, with denim, or with a sweater when it cools down. I’ll post it all three ways when it cools down, but my hair was saturated just shooting this look, so layering will have to wait.
I’m only a month in to my new saving money plan, so I’ll get back to y’all in a few months to talk about the difference it has/hasn’t made.
