I haven’t posted about (small business) boutiques in a while until this post last Friday. Honestly, I felt like I’d “grown out of” the typical boutique styles. I wasn’t drawn to anything they were stocking, and quite frankly, I would go as far as to say I was turned off by them. Which I hate, because I’m such an avid supporter of locally owned small business.
I shopped at The Blue Door Boutique quite a lot in my early to mid twenties, but probably hadn’t purchased from them in well over seven or so years. In fact, I don’t think I’ve visited their site in at least five. Bored on the Internet one day last week, I clicked over.
I purchased two sweaters- the one pictured above and this one that I’ll post later this week. I stand by my words that I think I’ve outgrown the whole “boutique” look, but I’m glad I clicked over to their site because the two items I purchased I really like! I also loved this jumpsuit, but I knew it wouldn’t work on my build, so sadly, I had to pass.
As far as this particular sweater goes, it’s oversized, so it would pair perfect with skinny jeans. I was just in the mood for a looser fit, and by slightly front tucking it, it worked well. I added my ‘ole faithful cheetah print booties that are seven (?) years old to add a small spark to this easy, basic outfit. If you don’t own a leopard|cheetah print shoe, get you a pair! You’ll wear the soles off of them, I’m not kidding.
Do any of you ever feel like you’ve outgrown a particular shopping genre? I have a post planned in a of couple weeks to highlight a few small business boutiques that are worth (re)visiting that I think you’ll find worth the read.
Have a great day!
