Good morning, y’all! I hope everyone has enjoyed their three day weekend! I’m jealous, my weekend boils down to just Sunday’s. Yesterday, I convinced B to take me to brunch, and to my surprise, he enjoyed it! He’s been gone for the last week on a hunting trip so it was nice to spend some time together. Especially spending time together over mimosas and crepes. Am I right?!?
You remember when I talked about a few new things that I wanted to bring to this site? I haven’t decided what I’m going to call it yet (why am I announcing it then?), but this outfit is the inspiration.
Fashion blogs are meant to be inspirational or aspirational. Don’t get me wrong, I love that about them, but that isn’t 100% where I’m at in this chapter of my life. Is it safe to assume that y’all aren’t either?
Let me elaborate.
I’m not wearing heels and getting ready everyday. I mean, I don’t have the time, the energy, or the desire. Don’t get me wrong, I wish I was that girl, but I’m not, and that’s okay. I post my outfits here 3 days a week, and I’m wanting to start having one of the three be super casual. Be an outfit I actually wear when I go grocery shopping, the nail salon, AC’s school, etc.
This outfit is the easiest to throw together. I wrote a post last week about my go-to uniform for simple nights/ lunches out, but this is my favorite for days when you simply don’t feel like getting ready. Leggings and a button up with Uggs or sneakers. It’s not groundbreaking by any means, and that’s the point.
This plaid flannel from AEO is beyond comfortable and it comes in an array of colors. I paired it with my Spanx faux leather leggings to add a little something extra and threw on my Ugg’s.
Outfits that require zero thought or planning will always be my favorite. I always admire an outfit that looks carefree and effortless. I wore leggings, a Margaritaville t-shirt, an oversized cardigan and sneakers to a coffee shop the other day and I felt like a million bucks. I’m not kidding, I did! For the record, I laughed like hell at myself when I got in the car after because I looked like a 30-something year old sorority girl. Or homeless (is there a difference?). Anyway, it felt great! It gave me all the “I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom” vibes.
