Do y’all remember the Chevron craze a few years ago? Did y’all own 20 chevron print pieces like I did? I remember seeing a meme on Facebook when the trend started to die and it read, “Remember ladies, todays chevron print is tomorrows shag carpet”.

I. Died. Reading that took the words I couldn’t find right out of my mouth.

Like any trend, with a new approach it can come back as less trendy and more timeless. While this sweater (now sold out, but I’ll link similar ones in the widget below) has a chevron print, it’s minimal and feels retro almost. I could see my mom wearing it in the 80’s at the skating rink while sipping a malt shake, and now I’m wearing it in 2018 on the banks of my tiny little river town.

I think that’s the key with any trend. Once you find a way to create it in the most minimum way, it becomes timeless. A staple or an investment.

This sweater was under $50.00, so not necessarily an investment piece, but definitely a classic take on a once trendy print. As I said, my mom probably wore a sweater like this in the 80’s. I’m wearing it now in 2018, and my daughter will more than likely own a similar article in college.

In other news, Cecelia New York shared my photo today!!! Well, they shared my feet in their boots that my photographer Ryan Sherrod took. But still, talk about a Monday! My hands were shaking when I got the Instagram notification! To my knowledge, my photos have never been shared or regrammed by a brand, so it was really exciting! I screenshot it and sent it to B and told my friend Kellie about it. Of course dinosaur B had no idea what I was talking about, so the excitement died somewhere between the first time and second time I had to explain it to him. Kellie got it immediately and then told me my photos had shown up on her Pinterest feed and that sealed the deal! Monday blues, take that!
