I’ve never been one to wish away the Summer, I’m actually a total Summertime gal! But y’all, this year, I. Am. Over. It.

Not sure if my age is showing or it’s just that hot, but I need some crisper temps! There’s an issue for me when I can’t even walk to the mailbox without my hair sweating. Serious business, y’all. The humidity is really putting a damper on my living my best life.

Then, you have all of these girls all over the ‘gram wearing sweaters and jeans. I did that last year, thinking that’s what I was supposed to do, and that ain’t happening again. Much like the first time I tried a PSL, it only took once, because contrary to popular belief, I am, in fact, sane. I’m also not going to pay thousands of dollars to go to Canada to shoot sweaters, when it’s still in the 80’s there. But hey, you do you girl.

So, I present to you a totally doable September in Alabama outfit option. This Free People tee is extremely lightweight and breathable, without being sheer. It’s an oversized fit, so very slim chance of a sweat stain, and I know y’all are picking up what I’m putting down with that comment. I especially love the high-low factor, I like to call them my mullet tops. Ha!

I’ll be doing multiple posts with Fall transitional outfits for us Southern girls, but I have four tips (nothing rocket science) that you can implement if you’re as ready for sweater weather as I am, but live in a warmer climate!

Light Sweater with Shorts

Like I did above, I took a very lightweight, quarter sleeve top and paired it with cutoffs and booties. Some of my favorite lightweight, long sleeve tees are these and these. These sweatshirts are my favorite once you get to the highs being in the low 80’s, and also keep you warm once it gets colder. Another option is Oxfords. These from Express have a great fit and are very light!

Jeans and Sleeveless/ Short Sleeve

You’ll see a post later this week with this combo, but it’s the same concept as above. You know how when you get hot in the middle of the night, and slide one foot out from under the covers to cool you down? It works, right? Then you yank it back a few minutes later because you’re cold now. Ha! This is my life year ’round, y’all. As I said, you’re doing the same as the above mentioned, but flipping it.

A Darker Color Palette

Switching your pastels for jeweled or muted tones is always a great option. While I love bright, colorful prints and colors, I’ll often switch into its more muted tone. Another thing that I love to do once September hits is simply switch the wash of my jeans. Opting for a darker denim is super easy for transitioning into Fall!

Switching Your Footwear

Again, like above, I wore this outfit with a bootie. Another great option if you happen to be hot natured is to opt for a peep-toe bootie. I ordered these from VICI and love them for Fall (size down by half)!

Do y’all have any tips or tricks for the pre Fall season?
