FAQ

Q. Why did you start a blog?
I wish this was a cool story, but it’s not. I was watching a reality show one night and became obsessed with a kimono this girl was wearing. I searched high and low for over a week googling every description I could of that damn thing, but to no avail. What I did stumble upon were quite a few fashion blogs, and I thought, “Hey, I could do that!” And so I did.
Fun Fact: My first blog was in 2001 on some site named Hippyland. I don’t even think they were called blogs then? Anyway, I had it for about 6 months before parents got mad that their kids pictures were on the Internet (all of my friends knew, I guess it was like our secret), and my mother made me delete it.

Q. I’ve followed you for a while, why so many blog name changes?
I’m the flightiest person you will probably ever meet! I have the hardest time committing to much of anything. It’s probably why I’m not married?
1. Southern, Sometimes-  I decided I didn’t want Southern in my site name anymore.
2. B Party of Three- Sounded to “Mommy Blogger”.
3. Champagne & Things- Decided it was cliche.
4. For The Record- The URL was taken. Which led to…
5. Jaime Moses- Self-titled. It is my domain address, though. I just wanted something more creative.
6. What Jaime Wore- I liked it, but if I ever wanted to write about anything else, it wouldn’t make sense.
7. Bottle no. 5- Perfect. I’d get asked about my hair a lot. I found it funny to reply with “Oh, it’s like bottle number 5 or something”, because I’m a “bottle blonde”. Also, it takes me about 5 of everything to decide on anything, so it seems fitting.

Q. How tall are you?
5′. 95% of what you see me wear has been altered.

Q. Your photos are mostly selfies. Why not hire a photographer?
This is a two-fold answer. On one hand, I miss the old days of blogging where everything was more genuine and less curated. However, that isn’t the content that garners attention anymore, no matter how good you are. A friend of mine took my pictures for a while, but she’s busy with three children and going back to school, so I’d feel guilty even asking her. I’d love to hire a professional, but blogging isn’t a thing here and local photographers are family and wedding photographers. I have faith that I’ll find the perfect one, but until then I’ll be kicking it old school circa 2010 with my iPhone 8+.

Q. Where do you live?
Gadsden, Alabama. It’s about half way between Birmingham and Huntsville.

Q. I saw on Instastories you bought a Shoffett? What’s a Shoffett?
HAHA. Yes, girl! It’s a word I made up. It’s a She Shed/Office/Closet. I bought a 12×24 double lofted barn.
B has our spare bedroom occupied with hunting and fishing stuff and our 3 bay garage with boats, dirt bikes, ATV’S, etc.
I have a 3 foot closet and a bar stool.
So, I went and bought myself a 288 square foot tiny house, that upon completion, will be my all white sanctuary that I can do whatever I want with. I’m most excited about the shoe wall, though. Stay tuned, I’ll post about the process as I go.

Q. Who are some of your favorite bloggers?
There are so many! If I had to narrow it down, I’d say Kathleen Barnes of Carrie Bradshaw Lied, Jacey Dupree of Damsel In Dior and Krystal Bick of This Time Tomorrow. Those are def the ones I’d like to have a drink with!

Q. What are some things that you consider worth the investment?
A pair of denim that fit you to perfection, a well tailored blazer, a classic leather handbag, a good set of luggage and a skincare regimen that’s better than Botox.
