Dressing Up A Casual Cardigan

If you follow me on Instagram (and you should!), then you saw a mirror selfie I posted when I first styled this cardigan. I purchased it because I loved the color and the sleeve detail. Doesn’t it resemble that pom sleeve cardigan that everyone was wearing?! I feel like it got styled to death, so I like this one that’s a little different, although still casual enough for everyday.

I knew I wanted to wear it a different way for the blog, and my inspiration came from Lindsi Lanes closet tour video.

Y’all.

I belted this cardigan and it didn’t matter how still I stood, how much I sucked in, or what angle it was shot at, it was terrible! I’m currently unsure if it’s the cut of this particular cardigan or my body type, but not even a chip clip could aid me in pulling off that look. And just so I remain an honest source for y’all, I did try a chip clip, but not very adamantly, because if I can’t wear it out, I won’t wear it here.

So, I tucked in my non- plumped bottom lip and put the damn belt where belts should go.

By adding my Express Downtown Cami and a white pointed toe bootie, it elevated the look of this casual cardigan. For example, I’d have worn the Instagram look to lunch or a day activity at AC’s school vs. this way to dinner and drinks.

Have any of y’all tried to belt a waist length cardigan? Did it work for you or do you need to have a unicorn body?
