First off, Happy Fall, y’all!

I sure wish Alabama got the memo that it was the first day of Fall, though. Sadly, it’s still in the 90’s here. But, to celebrate the calendar first day of Fall, I wanted to show you how to easily transition your Summer dresses into Fall.

Denim jackets are your friend, y’all. Remember this post when I admitted that I’d never owned one before? Honestly, I have no idea how I made it into my 30’s without one! You can get one like mine for around $40.00 at Old Navy, but I’ll link a few different price points below.

Where I live is still a little too hot to add a denim jacket for daytime, but simply tying it around your waist will give off the same transitional vibe. Another idea is to lap it through your purse straps if you’re a “tote girl” like me.
Not a fan of the denim jacket? Another favorite lightweight outerwear piece that I love is the field jacket, or as some call it, a utility jacket. I actually love them so much I have three and a vest. Ha! You can wear them now the same ways I spoke about above. I’ll link a few of them in the widget below, too.

If you’re still not quite ready to play the transitional layering game, simply add a closed toe bootie. The ones I’m wearing are the Rag & Bone “Harrow” bootie, which I purchased from The Real Real last year. I have a full post coming soon on my experience shopping at The Real Real, so be on the lookout for that.
My dress is an Amazon find and only $16.99. It comes in 7 colors and ships Prime. While I do think it fits TTS, I sized up when I ordered the black one and I like the fit better. I just don’t like things to fit me snuggly. This dress is available in sizes Small- Extra Large and is the perfect dupe to that Leith dress that everyone loves! Hey, save $30.00 where ‘ya can, right?!?
