A Very Tricky Pink Sweater + Things I’m Loving Lately

Serious question: Do any of you own this sweater? It was part of a large Revolve purchase I made, and it was very confusing. Allow me to elaborate.

I tried it on, and I’m a sucker for a good oversized sweater, but it left me puzzled! I turned around for a side/back view, and it was significantly shorter in the back. My first inclination was to look inside the neckline because I thought I had it on backward.  Nope. I didn’t see a tag. So then, I thought maybe it was like the peter pan collared shirts for kids, and the tag went in the front. Right?

Wrong.

I turned it around and it was still shorter in the back. Seriously, how in the hell is a top reversible and gives the same effect? It doesn’t describe it as reversible, and maybe I’m a lone ranger here, but honestly, I’m still lost as to which way this thing is supposed to be worn. It sure is cute, though! And for $158.00 $54.00, I win.

Let’s talk abut a few things that I’m loving lately. Those things that come out of nowhere and are just so you, y’all feel me?

The band Blackberry Smoke

How am I just hearing this band? B stumbled upon them on a friends newsfeed and made me listen. They’re so good y’all! Their cover of Tom Petty’s You Got Lucky is amazing. Pure perfection. They have another song I love called One Horse Town. If that doesn’t hit home, I don’t know what does. For me anyway.

The movie A Star Is Born

I’ve watched this movie once a week since it was released. It’s nothing new, the obsession is over, but for me, it’s never over. I think to most it’s just a love story, and it is, but when you’ve lived with someone like Jack, it’s much more. Addiction and mental illness are so real, but oftentimes the loved ones of the addicted don’t have a voice. I have a very long post coming on this matter, I’m just not quite ready to share yet. I’m actually leaning more towards a vlog post on the matter (my first!) because I find it hard to put into typed words.

The Steve Madden Greece sandals

A near perfect dupe for the Hermes Oran sandal. Because I’m sorry, who in their right mind pays $650.00 for something to wear on their feet? They’re cute, though! These retail for $70.00 and are high quality, comfortable, and stupid cute.

The medicine NyQuil

Been my best good friend for a week now. Night and day. If I’m not at work, I’m taking a medicine cup full of this magic and going to bed. I always hope I’ll wake up a new woman, so far, I haven’t. But I sure am sleeping good.

The Cropped Strait Leg denim trend

Do you follow me on Instagram? If so, you remember my story on these. Complete. Disaster. Well, I refused to give up so I ordered 6 pair from different brands. I found a few that work for my body type, and I’m loving them. I’ll do a full post in the next couple of weeks as we shoot them.

Following Kirk Jay on Instagram

While he had me from The Voice blind auditions, and being from Alabama doesn’t hurt, following along after his winning third place is a refresher. That third place was ridiculous America, but I digress. His last performance, “I’m Defenseless”, did me in. It still does me in. Like it’s all I wrote type done me in. But following his journey afterward is extremely humbling. If you need a smile and a bit of encouragement, follow his journey.
